Hannah Koonce

Hannah Koonce grew up in Frederick, Maryland, and is currently pursuing a B.A. in Documentary Filmmaking with a minor in Photography at Spelman College. Her passion for storytelling began when she was younger, creating stop-motion films starring her American Girl dolls. Today, she channels that same imagination into bold, visually intentional films that
reimagine Black characters in spaces they were never meant to occupy.

Hannah is a certified Adobe Premiere Pro editor and skilled in drone photography and videography. She co-founded BloopEdits, a video editing business dedicated to empowering Atlanta University Center creatives through professional storytelling, and currently serves as Production House Manager for Spelman Film Fusion, where she ensures the successful
completion of collective projects, upholds the quality of campus events, and collaborates with other board members to plan innovative artistic showcases that highlight student talent.

She also works as an Audio/Visual Equipment Assistant in Spelman’s Art & Visual Culture Department, helping filmmakers bring their visions to life through hands-on technical support and creative problem-solving. Her work explores Black joy, representation, and community, while also reflecting her curiosity about how different artists see the world through their mediums.

Whether behind the camera or learning from other creators, Hannah is driven by a desire to tell stories that make people feel
truly seen and connected.
